Prashan Chitty, nicknamed Mr. P! received primary and secondary education in St. Francis Institution Melaka. Not such a bookworm, P! ended up more active out of class then in the class. By upper form, P! was the troop leader of the St. Francis Institution 6th Fort Scouts. He was also the sub editor of the Franciscan, an internationally renowned La Sallian School magazine. P! also served 2 years in the prefectorial board.
Before receiving a knee damage on his Anterior Cruciate Ligaent (ACL) during his teens, P! was an active sportsmen. He represented his school for Badminton & Table Tennis. In addition to that, P! was a member of the Malacca Fencing Association in which he bagged 1 gold & 5 bronze’s at National Junior level. However, P! loved playing football most and it was this sport that led him to his current knee injury while representing his College for football. P! has received both half and full colour awards from his school for his achievement in the sport of fencing. After Secondary school, P! left his beloved town of Melaka to further his education in Binary College doing the Diploma in Information Technology. Because of his active involvement in extra curricular activities, P! received the MAPCU! scholarship award to continue his degree in computer studies, also in Binary College but twinning with the University of Sunderland, UK. P! graduated with second class. In his final years of study, P! was elected student council president for Binary in which was what led him to continue his passion by working in Binary University College upon graduating.
P! is also an active entertainer and musician. He enjoys particularly country music and is known to have his own style of covering other people’s music. P! has to date had the pleasure of jamming in gigs and learning from other artist like Paul Ponnudorai, Gerard Singh, Raymond Chia, Sherman Tan, Albert Sirimal, VJ David, Kenny Tay, Julian Mokhtar and Rafique Rashid. As much as he loves his music, P! is merely and ordinary acoustic style performer which plays to his own love and passion.
In 2006, P! joined the One in a Million competition where he pulled through to the elimination rounds but unfortunately got eliminated during the Group Eliminations. However, the competition has helped him gain much experience and popularity. Now, he is getting better recognition for his music then he was before.
P! previously worked in the student services department of Binary University College where he conducted indoor and outdoor events for the university. P! is also affiliated with the Kiwanis Club of Putrajaya where he serves as the secretary to YBhg Dato’ Professor Joseph Adaikalam. He is also affiliated with the Franciscan Club of Kuala Lumpur under the wing of YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Augustine Ong. Of recent, P! joined Bid Direct as the Program Manager for DiGi’s Yellow Army project where he helped design this evolutionary project with DiGi’s Youth Marketing Segment team.
P! is also affiliated with web programming projects. He is the creator of the Binary University College Student E-Community and is currently also undertaking a couple of other projects in this business. Although P! lives a simple life, he dreams of making changes in people’s lifes and when one dare’s to dream, there will be hope!
In October 2008, P! was accepted to do events in DiGi Telecommunications Malaysia and this is where he resides at the moment, working his butt off. Good luck p!
